The Process

Web design is a very involved process, but have no fear! We’ll work together to make sure that your vision is realized (with best practices for optimization in mind, of course!)

Consultation

I offer a free, 30-minute consultation where we talk about your business, your website, and decide if we’d be a good fit to work together. After the call, I’ll send a proposal with a quote for the services we discussed. If everything looks good, we’ll move forward with a contract!

Phase 1: Project Discovery

After the contract is signed, the fun begins! I’ll provide a client intake form for you to fill out, and create a shared folder for assets. This helps me get all the information I need about your website, branding, copy, and any other content.

Phase 2: Design

I’ll create a sitemap for the website, and get started on the design! The website will be built on a staging site, subdomain, or on a local server, so your current site (if you have one) will remain up and running.

Phase 3: Develop & Test

Now it’s time to test, test, test! I’ll run through the website and optimize areas where performance is lacking. I’ll do a test run to make sure everything is working properly and it’s mobile responsive.

Phase 4: Launch

Your site is ready to go live! I’ll move the site to your domain and redirect the nameservers. I’ll also set up Google Search Console. I’ll create a brief video for you running through the pages and the backend so you’ll feel comfortable taking the reins.

Frequently Asked Questions

Most projects take 4-6 weeks from start to finish. A lot of it depends on how quickly the content is submitted (images, copy, etc.), and the turnaround time for feedback.

I will let you know when the website is ready for review. You will need to submit your feedback in one go (this will count as one round). Once I have implemented the changes I will send to you for a second review. Ideally most of the changes needed will be addressed in the first review.

Yes! I can set up your WooCommerce store for an additional fee based on the number of products, variations, etc.

The website is yours to host, change, update, and maintain however you wish! Even if you sign up for one of my care plans, you’ll always have control over the content of your own website.

Yes you can, and I will provide a customized walkthrough so you will be confident with your new website.

My care plans are not mandatory for web design clients, but they are highly recommended because of the importance of security, optimization, updates, backups, support, etc.

That said, you can absolutely choose not to sign up! You will, in that case, assume complete responsibility for the website updates, security, backups, and other services laid out in the plans.

Absolutely! If you decide to come back after having initially passed on the plan due to the work that’s involved in maintaining your site, I’ll welcome you with open arms and make sure your site is protected and cared for!

If it has been more than 90 days from when your website launched, and you’d like to join a maintenance plan at any level, there is a $99 setup fee because I’ll need to update all tools, clean up the database if it hasn’t been cleared, install software, and backup the site, among other tasks.

Absolutely! If you choose to have me maintain additional sites under your account, you’ll get a 30% discount for every site you add which will be active for as long as you stay on the plan.

Nope! My website care plans are monthly with a no-risk, no questions asked guarantee. If for any reason you need to pull your website from the plan, you have complete freedom to do so without any extra charges or fees.
